Freight Forwarding Operator – Air Freight 

Location: Manchester Airport, Manchester
Salary: £32,000 – £39,000 DOE + Company Bonus
Hours: 8:30-17:00

We’re recruiting for an Air Freight Operator based for my client at Manchester Airport to join their well-established freight forwarding business with a fantastic reputation, a modern office, and a friendly, family-feel culture.

The Role As an Air Freight Operator, you’ll be responsible for managing shipments from start to finish, ensuring customers receive an outstanding service throughout the process.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the full end-to-end air freight forwarding process.
• Preparing and issuing customer quotations and pricing.
• Booking shipments with airlines and overseas partners.
• Handling export shipments from booking through to final delivery.
• Liaising with customers, airlines, hauliers and overseas agents.
• Completing customs and shipping documentation where required.
• Providing proactive shipment updates and resolving any issues.
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Ensuring all shipments are handled efficiently and in line with company procedures.

About You

• At least 1 year’s experience in freight forwarding.
• Air freight experience is essential.
• Export experience is preferred, however candidates with strong air import experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience managing shipments from start to finish.
• Confident preparing quotations and pricing.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Organised with strong attention to detail.
• Able to work effectively within a busy, fast-paced environment.
